Co-Owner / CFO

Keisha Tucker

K

eisha Tucker is the co-owner and CFO of The Service Dog Team Academy, and she brings a combination of credentials that’s genuinely uncommon in the service dog training world. She’s a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and an APDT member — and she’s also a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) licensed by the state of Texas.

That counseling background isn’t incidental. A meaningful portion of TSDTA’s clients are veterans, first responders, and individuals navigating PTSD, anxiety, and other psychiatric disabilities — people for whom a service dog isn’t just a convenience, it’s a lifeline. Keisha understands that population in a way most dog trainers simply can’t. She brings both the technical training expertise and the human understanding to work with handlers who need more than just a well-trained dog — they need a team that gets it.

Keisha handles the business operations and client relationships at TSDTA while remaining actively involved in the training program. She works directly with handlers throughout the service dog training pathway and administers the AKC CGC evaluation alongside Valerie. Her approach to every client relationship mirrors her counseling background: meet people where they are, be honest about the process, and build toward something that actually works in real life.
