Experienced Dog Training for Frisco

Where Big Growth Meets Real Training

Certified Dog Training for Frisco Families

The Service Dog Team Academy is based in Rockwall, on the eastern edge of the metroplex — Frisco sits on the opposite side, roughly 45–50 minutes away via the Sam Rayburn Tollway or Bush Turnpike. It’s the longest drive of any city we regularly serve, and we’re upfront about that: in-home scheduling in Frisco may have a bit less flexibility than closer cities, though Board & Train and group programs work well regardless of distance.

Frisco has grown explosively over the past decade, and a lot of our Frisco clients are newer residents adjusting a dog to a new home, new neighborhood, and often a new type of property altogether. Led by Valerie Fry and Keisha Tucker, our programs range from puppy training and basic obedience through full service dog training — all built on certified, positive reinforcement methods, with no e-collars, prong collars, or corrections.

What Sets Our Team Apart

Training That Keeps Up With Frisco's Growth

As one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, Frisco has no shortage of newer master-planned communities, corporate relocations, and families settling in from out of state. That often means dogs adjusting to a new environment, new routines, and sometimes new households altogether. We build training plans around that transition — helping dogs settle in with structure and consistency rather than starting from scratch with no plan.

Valerie holds her KPA CTP, ABCDT-L2, AKC CGC Evaluator, and CLASS certifications. Keisha is also an AKC CGC Evaluator and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), a background that shapes how we support Frisco-area veterans and clients managing PTSD or anxiety through service dog training. Both administer AKC Canine Good Citizen testing directly.

If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would! Entrusting someone with your dog for an entire month is a big decision, but from the very beginning, I knew Samantha Jean was in amazing hands. During her boarding and training, she received exceptional care, and the transformation in her behavior was incredible. She came home more well-mannered, and responsive than I ever imagined. One thing that meant so much to me while Samantha Jean was away was the communication. Valerie and Keisha regularly FaceTimed me and sent videos of her training and daily progress, so I could see firsthand how well she was doing. Those updates gave me so much peace of mind and made being apart from her much easier. What truly sets them apart is their commitment to both the dogs and their owners. Once Samantha Jean’s onsite training was complete, they went above and beyond by picking me up from the airport, taking me to lunch, and spending that time doing one-on-one, face-to-face training with both of us. That hands-on instruction gave me the confidence to continue everything Samantha Jean had learned before they took us back to the airport. Even though we live far away, their support didn’t end when we left. They continue to offer follow-up training through FaceTime and Zoom, making sure we’re successful long after the initial training is over. That level of dedication and ongoing support is rare and shows how much they genuinely care about the dogs they train and the families they serve. If you’re looking for trainers who are knowledgeable, patient, caring, and truly invested in your dog’s long-term success, I cannot recommend Valerie and Keisha with The Service Dog Team Academy highly enough. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Samantha Jean and for giving us the tools and support to help her continue to thrive. We are forever grateful!

We were very impressed with the care and training Lexi received during our time out of the country. The ladies at The Service Dog Team are very knowledgeable in what they do and have provided our family with lots of tips to help support our little one. Lexi had her first social training session at Home Depot today and loved it. She went right home and fell asleep on the couch without anything in her mouth. She is a tired and happy girl!🩷

This training has been a great experience for both my dog and me. It has helped us build confidence in public settings while teaching us how to better communicate and understand each other. We've both learned new skills, and the guidance has made training more enjoyable and effective. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to strengthen their bond with their dog while improving real-world behavior.

I highly recommend the team, very professional & caring. The best part is their genuine passion for fur babies, it shows in the care and attention they give to every pet. Keep up the good work!

Kimberly has been working really hard on getting her service dog training in as she will be a service/task oriented dog for my wife. The service dog team academy is great. Keisha and Bailey have gone above and beyond to help us and Kimber learn what we need to accomplish this. Here are a few pictures of Kimber learning to not be reactive to her surroundings. The Service Dog Team Academy will answer your questions and help in any way possible. They helped with Kimber by taking her for a month after I broke my ankle and was unable to do anything and my wife couldn't work with her like she needed. They are a great team to have behind you and will support you in every way need we do. I highly recommend them for any training your dog my need. They are great.

Kimber has been working with Service Dog Team Academy on becoming a service dog for me. She is doing great and I'm feeling more confident in working with her thanks to Keisha and Bailey. They are great and always available to help and answer any and all questions. They really devote their time and energy into getting your dog at the level you need. I highly recommend them to anyone needing help with their dog. The pictures are of Kimber working on stay at Lowe's and at the Dr. office working on not being distracted by people.

Here Where You Need Us

Frisco and the Wider DFW Area We Cover

We're based in Rockwall and also regularly serve Dallas, Plano, McKinney, Allen, Forney, and Lavon across the broader DFW Metroplex. If you're in a different part of Frisco or a neighborhood not mentioned here, contact us to confirm availability.

Being based in Rockwall also means we're closely tied to the local community — we're not commuting in from across the metroplex to serve you, and same-day or next-day scheduling is often easier for Rockwall clients than it is for those further out.

Frisco Dog Training FAQs

Answers to all your pressing questions about our services, our prices, and what to expect with your dog in one of our training programs.

Is Frisco too far away for you to serve?

Not at all — but we’re honest about the drive. Frisco is about 45–50 minutes from our Rockwall facility, the longest distance of any city we regularly serve. Board & Train and group programs work well regardless of distance since drop-off and pick-up happen at set times. In-home session availability may be somewhat more limited than for closer cities, so it’s best to check with us directly on scheduling.

My dog just moved to Frisco with us — where should we start?

A lot of our Frisco clients are in exactly that situation. We typically recommend starting with basic obedience or in-home training to help your dog adjust to the new environment and routine, especially if the move involved a change in living space, yard access, or household members. From there, we can build toward more advanced training as your dog settles in.

Do you train service dogs for Frisco residents?

Yes — service dog training is one of our core specialties. We work with Frisco handlers through the full training pathway: Board & Train foundation, weekly public training sessions, Canine Good Citizen certification, CGC Urban, and task-specific work. Under Texas law, Service Dogs in Training have full public access rights, so training can begin in real Frisco environments early in the process.

What makes The Service Dog Team Academy different from other Frisco trainers?

Both owners are certified AKC CGC Evaluators, meaning we administer official Canine Good Citizen testing directly rather than referring clients elsewhere. Co-owner Keisha Tucker is also a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, which shapes how we support veterans and clients managing PTSD through service dog training. Every program uses positive reinforcement exclusively.

How much does dog training cost in Frisco?

Our pricing is the same for all DFW clients regardless of city. Board & Train is $1,950 with a $200 deposit. In-Home Training runs $150 per session or discounted packages of 3 or 5 sessions. Service dog task training is $1,950 per 12-session package. See our full FAQ page for complete pricing details.
